John Christly is the Chief Information Officer and Emergency Management Coordinator for the City of Hallandale Beach, Florida. He also co-founded OMC Systems, a cybersecurity advisory firm.
He is a seasoned Information Technology and Cybersecurity Executive as well as a Military Veteran with experience both domestically and internationally. He is an MSI Senior Fellow™ and a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt with many years of experience in technical and cybersecurity related sales, support, and service delivery. He was a 2017 finalist for CISO of the Year from the EC-Council, and is a 2016 graduate of the FBI's Citizen Academy. He also serves as the Chairman of the Cybersecurity Committee with the Florida Government Information Systems Association (FLGISA). His experience includes several industry regulations and standards including HIPAA, HITECH, CJIS, GLBA, ISO, FERPA, FCPA, FIPA, GDPR, NIST, SOX, NY DFS, and PCI. As an accomplished author, Mr. Christly’s articles have appeared in publications such as Security Magazine, Executive Insight Magazine, 24/7 Magazine, and the ISSA Journal. He is also a frequent speaker at international, national and regional technology and cybersecurity events.
