Wing K. Lee is the Chief Executive Officer of YTL Communications Sdn Bhd, the communications arms of YTL Corporation Berhad, Malaysia’s leading infrastructure conglomerate with businesses serving 12 million customers across 3 continents.
The Company envisions using the internet to leapfrog Malaysia into an innovation-led economy. In November 2010, the Company commercially launched ‘Yes’, Malaysia’s fastest and largest 4G mobile Internet with converged telephony services. Globally recognized, the “Yes” network was named the World’s Best New Service at the Broadband World Forum while Frost and Sullivan recognized the Company as the Most Innovation Service Provider in Asia Pacific.
As the CEO of the Company, Wing fully maximizes his expertise in product innovation and a deep understanding of communications and Internet technologies to deliver affordable, world-class quality products and services that improve the way people in Malaysia live, learn, work and play.
Prior to joining YTL Communications, Wing had a distinguished career in the United States, having served as Chief Architect in Sprint’s Long Distance Division, directed Enterprise Architecture for the first nationwide wireless data network in the U.S, and led Sprint’s innovative program. Wing is the unique holder of both of the Sprint’s top honours – the Leadership Excellence Award and the Technology Leadership Award. Wing also holds twelve U.S. Patents in wireless and distributed systems and was recognized as the Asian American Engineer of the Year during the 2002 U.S. National Engineers Week.
A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Wing has also completed Executive Program in Management and Leadership at MIT’s Sloan School of Management.
