Andrew (Andy) Bennett joined IBM in October 2018 as the worldwide sales leader for IBM’s Watson IoT offering. This portfolio includes Enterprise Asset Management, Facilities Management, System Engineering and the industry-leading IoT platform. The focus of the team is to help clients securely connect, manage, and analyze IoT data with the Watson IoT Platform. That foundation allows our clients to generate new business models and make more informed, real-time decisions with cognitive analytics.
Prior to joining IBM, Andy held the position of SVP of EcoStruxure IoT at Schneider Electric, where he managed Schneider Electric's major electro-intensive segments in North America, including oil and gas, utilities, data centers and healthcare. In addition, Andy had responsibility for SE’s MicroGrid Business, as well as operations of the medium voltage Energy Business Unit.
Andy was the General Manager of Telvent's Electric Utility Group, which was focused on delivering real-time operational technology to global utilities. In 2011, Telvent was acquired by Schneider Electric. Before taking on these roles for SE, Andy was the COO of Miner & Miner, a software business focused on geospatial asset management and outage management for electric and gas utilities.
A large portion of his professional experience has been shaped by leading teams that are focused on the integration of software and hardware, often described as the Internet of Things (IoT). In his 21 years in the industry Andy has managed global businesses as small as $20M and as large as $1.5B.
When not on a plane, Andy lives in Boulder, CO. He is an active alumnus from Lehigh University where he holds a BS in hydrogeology as well as a MS in chemistry from SUNY Stonybrook.
