Alexander OlesenFounder at Babylon Micro-Farms
Alexander Olesen is the CEO & Co-Founder of Babylon Micro-Farms Inc. The company evolved from an open-source project developing sustainable food systems for refugees in North Africa, who now leverage a proprietary IoT platform to remotely manage their network of indoor vertical farms. The farms within the network are supported by a software platform that connects expert growers and a subscription of growing supplies to the farms. They are pushing the boundaries of plant science with advanced data collection and machine learning algorithms to optimize conditions for specific crop varieties and in the process making sustainable indoor agriculture more accessible than ever before.
He is a 2017 graduate of the University of Virginia in Foreign Affairs & Social Entrepreneurship and was President of the Agricultural Innovation Society.
