Carl MarchDirector of Analytics at Stanley, Black & Decker
Carl March is Stanley Black & Decker’s Director of Analytics, Industry 4.0. In this role, he is responsible for developing and implementing data driven decision making use cases enabled by IIoT connectivity across the Stanley Black & Decker (SBD) site network.
In almost 20 years of manufacturing experience, Carl has had proven success in numerous industry sectors, in the application of analytical optimization methods leading to higher levels of throughput, equipment reliability, operability and maintainability.
Prior to joining SBD, Carl worked as an expert manufacturing consultant including stints at McKinsey and Company and Life Cycle Engineering as well as directly in manufacturing leading reliability, maintenance and continuous improvement functions within cement manufacturing, mining and alumina refining.
Carl holds a Masters of Science in Engineering (MSE), Automotive Systems Engineering, from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from University of the West Indies. He has attained a significant level of professional recognition as a licensed Professional Engineer (PE), a Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), and a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP). His publications include technical papers written for the ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress as well as the IMechE International Journal of Automobile Engineering and other industry periodicals and reference texts.
