Mark is founder and general partner of Quidnet Ventures, an early stage investor in New Zealand-based tech startups. Most recently he led Vista Labs, part of Vista Consulting Group, that worked with Vista Equity Partners portfolio companies to improve their innovation strategies and processes.
He has held the CTO role with global technology firms including NetApp, Neustar, Symantec, and VERITAS and various senior management roles with IBM as well as leadership positions in startups (AirMedia and Booxby).
He is dedicated to addressing the underrepresentation of women in the fields of computer science and engineering, serving from 2009-2018 as director of the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology. He also serves on the boards of the Bay Area Science and Innovation Consortium (BASIC) and Booxby, Inc.
Mark lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, a hotbed of entrepreneurial activity, where he is an avid cyclist and foodie.
Mark holds a PhD, an MA, and an MPhil in physics from Columbia University and an AB in Physics from Harvard College.
