Rainer SternfeldGM of Trusted Data Platforms, VP of Strategic Projects at Intertrust Technologies
Rainer Sternfeld leads the Trusted Data Platforms division and strategic projects at Intertrust. He is an Estonian technology entrepreneur who in 2012 founded Planet OS, the US-Estonian geospatial big data company, and was its’ CEO since until exit to Intertrust in 2017. While CEO, he also served on the Board of Directors of the World Ocean Council and was a member at the White House Open Data Roundtable. In 2015, the Planet OS search engine for Earth observation data was selected as one of the 14 technological solutions contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Prior to founding Planet OS, Mr. Sternfeld led new business initiatives and operations of ABB Baltic States, including designing the world’s first nationwide fast-charging infrastructure for electric cars, deployed in Estonia. Mr. Sternfeld is a Millennium Fellow at the Atlantic Council, an advisor at an early stage investment fund Superangel, hosts a regular podcast Global Estonians, and is a Board Director at Eesti 2.0, a nonprofit dedicated to inspire and teach Estonian students to build companies and learn to program. He has co-designed the Statue of Liberty of Estonia, and holds a MS in Mechatronics from Tallinn University of Technology.
