Svetislav MaricDirector of Engineering and Data Science Programs at University of California, San Diego
Svetislav Maric received his BS degree in electrical engineering from the Faculty of Technical Science, University of Novi Sad, Serbia, in 1986 and his PhD degree in electrical engineering from the University of Rochester, NY, USA, in 1990. From 1991 to 1994, he worked as an assistant professor at the City College of New York, USA. From 1994 to 1997, he worked as a senior lecturer at the University of Cambridge, UK. In 1997, he joined Qualcomm, San Diego, CA, USA, where he worked on research and development of wireless communications. He is currently the Director of Engineering and Data Science Programs at UCSD.
His main research areas include the application of frequency-hop codes in 4G and 5G wireless networks. And has authored more than 40 papers in leading technical engineering journals, and has been an invited speaker at different IEEE conferences
