Vasil Jaiani is a Chief Performance Officer at the Department of Public Works, DC Government. He leads the Office of Office of Strategic Planning and Performance Management (SPPM). Vasil’s team is the agency’s main change agent focusing on leveraging data to improve DPW operations and services. He has been leading the agency wide efforts on advancing performance management system, conducting process improvement projects and Stat accountability sessions, developing and deploying actionable reports and dashboards, serving as a liaison with the Mayor’s executive office and implementing special projects. Vasil is a firm believer in actionable business intelligence and seeks ways to derive operational value from every technology and data analytics solution.
Vasil has worked for the District Government since 2009 in various roles for the following agencies: Department on Disability Services, Mayor’s Office on Budget and Finance, Department of General Services, Department of Small and Local Business Development and Office of Chief Financial Officer. Vasil has also worked at the City Manager’s Office in Miami Beach FL, Mayor’s Office in Chicago IL and Carl Vinson Institute of Government in Athens GA. His international experience includes his work as a senior specialist at the Office of the State Minister at the Government of Georgia (Republic). Vasil is a certified lean six sigma black belt and holds Master’s degrees in Public Administration and Policy, Political Science and International Politics and Diplomacy.
