AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah (AAA NCNU) offers a wide array of automotive services to almost 6 million Members. For more than 100 years, AAA NCNU has been dedicated to saving lives on the road and advocating for traffic safety. As the mobility landscape evolves, it focuses on ensuring automated vehicle safety and providing consumer education. AAA owns and operates GoMentum Station, one of the largest connected and automated testing facilities in the U.S., with the goal of developing it into a premier proving ground for industry, academia, cities, and transportation agencies. Other notable AAA NCNU activities include launching the nation’s first self-driving shuttle in downtown Las Vegas for the public to experience the technology firsthand, developing a scenario based test plan in partnership with Transportation Research Center, conducting testing on Torc’s Asimov self-driving system, and partnering with Waymo on the Let’s Talk Self Driving consumer outreach campaign.
GoMentum Station is owned and operated by AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah (AAA NCNU), whose goal is to assist AAA members and the public in adapting to the fast-changing mobility landscape, while continuing to focus on traffic safety. GoMentum Station, in Concord, California, is where AAA NCNU leads and facilitates a collaborative partnership among automobile manufacturers; original equipment manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers; technology companies; researchers and academia; public agencies and other partners. Formerly a naval station, the 2,100-acre GoMentum Station is now the center of cutting-edge transportation research and the nexus of an automated vehicle safety ecosystem. The innovative technology being explored and tested at GoMentum Station will redefine the next generation of transportation, bring unprecedented mobility options to people, and help advance traffic safety.
