VP Voice Communication Services at Orange
Dominic Lobo is Vice President of Voice Communication Services at Orange responsible for driving strategy and implementation of value added voice services across its international footprint.
He has held this role since 2013 in which he has led the management of Libon, Orange’s VoIP and Messaging service and transformed it into a successful low-cost but high-quality international calling service. More recently he has developed a new product line for Orange delivering an enhanced calling experience, integrating new complementary voice-related services.
Dominic joined Orange in January 2006 initially to establish strategic partnerships with mobile OS platform partners enabling Orange to simplify how it could customise mobile devices. He was then instrumental in establishing Orange’s application retail strategy starting with the Orange Application Shop and then led the negotiation with key partners including Google, Microsoft and Sony agreeing the commercial terms to allow customers to buy content using their mobile operator bill.
Dominic has over 20 years’ experience in the communications industry with several years working at Nokia and Motorola in keyroles and led the product marketing activities to introduce the first Java (J2ME) handsets into Europe whilst working at Nokia
Dominic Lobo has a Bachelors of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Liverpool University and an MBA from the Open University.
