Tinkoff Bank is the world’s largest independent fully digital bank, serving over 8 million customers across Russia without a single branch. Headquartered in Moscow, Tinkoff is listed on the London Stock Exchange and has a market cap of approximately $3.5 billion. In December 2017 Tinkoff expanded its ecosystem, which consisted of credit and debit cards, insurance and other financial products, to include Tinkoff Mobile, an MVNO. Tinkoff Mobile offers customers a fully digital experience via its proprietary mobile app and chat, superior roaming, flexible tariff plans and excellent customer service. George Chesakov, head of Tinkoff Mobile, has overseen this MVNO project since it began in January 2017. He has also served as Tinkoff’s Chief Operating Officer and Chairman of the Management Board from 2006 until 2011. George was president of OTP Bank, where he launched a consumer finance business then under the name of Investsberbank, and co-founder of Revo Technology, before returning to Tinkoff in February, 2016. Prior to Tinkoff, he has worked at McKinsey & Company and Russian Standard Bank. George holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Princeton University and a Master’s degree in Mathematics from Moscow State University.
