Greig Paul is the Lead Mobile Networks & Security Engineer at the University of Strathclyde, which is the principal partner of the 5G RuralFirst DCMS Testbeds & Trials project consortium, demonstrating new approaches and thinking around the deployment of mobile networks in rural areas.
He has previously consulted with mobile network operators internationally on LTE/4G deployments. He has worked across a wide range of sectors including financial services, agriculture and technology companies on cyber-security.
In his work on the 5G RuralFirst project, he has developed and deployed a bespoke software-defined infrastructure for an operational end-to-end mobile network, and demonstrated the ability for standard LTE handsets and equipment to be used in dynamic spectrum access based networks.
