Cornelius FürstDirector - Product Line Management at ADVA Optical Networking
Cornelius has been a PLM director for ADVA since 2009, supporting the development of its open WDM transport technology. His work concentrates on building cost-efficient and highly scalable transport solutions based on innovative high-speed transport interfaces, compact integrated service grooming and flexible wavelength management. Special focus is taken on the introduction of open terminals for application both in disaggregated and integrated networks for carrier infrastructure and cloud DCI deployments. Over his career, Cornelius has authored and co-authored more than 50 publications in the research areas of DWDM networking technology, high-speed transmission and ultra-fast phenomena in physics. He has also filed numerous patent applications in the field of optical networking. Cornelius joined the fiber communication industry in 1998 and has previously driven innovation at Siemens Optical Networks, Marconi Communications and Ericsson, where he had the role of head of advanced technology and took responsibility for product line management. He received his diploma in physics from the Technical University of Munich in 1995, where he also completed his PhD in the field of ultra-high speed effects in semiconductors in 1998.
