Light Reading's Women in Comms Luncheon: Why Male Allies Matter

Wednesday, November 1, 2017 | 12:40 - 14:00

The Palace Room, The Royal Garden Hotel

Recruiting, retaining and supporting women in the next-gen comms industry is not a women's issue, it's an everyone issue! For any real progress to be made, men in the workplace must be part of the solution. There are plenty of reasons – financial, professional and interpersonal – that they should want to help as well.

Luckily, the next-gen comms industry is full of great male allies – mentors, leaders, colleagues and more –who are helping to create a more equitable and productive workforce. At our next Women in Comms networking event, our 13th event and fourth in London, we will be bringing together leading women in comms and their male allies to discuss everything related to the state of the industry today. Why does diversity in the workplace matter? Why should men care about the disparity in representation and pay oftheir female colleagues? How can men be effective mentors? We'll answer these questions and many more, including all of yours, at our luncheon.

As always, this free event will provide both an informal setting for those in the industry to meet and network over lunch and a forum to exchange ideas, learn and grow.

The event will be open (and FREE) to all women and men in the telecommunications, STEM and IT fields.

Women in Comms and its members are hosting this lunch and networking event on November 1, during the OSS in the Era of SDN & NFV conference at the Royal Garden Hotel in London. Please join Women in Comms' Carol Wilson, the editors of Light Reading, the analysts of Heavy Reading and our esteemed guest speakers from Women in Comms for a lively and honest discussion that will leave you feeling inspired, motivated and equipped to make a change.
