Mark has been at the forefront of the mobile communications revolution since the early 1990s, playing an integral role in the foundation of the GSMA (the mobile industry’s principle global association) and the acquisition and growth of the Mobile World Congress over more than two decades. The GSMA today has more than 800 mobile network members, across more than 200 countries, serving 5 Billion users. As Communications and Marketing Director, he led communications globally to support the roll-out of digital mobile networks across the world.
Over the last decade, with a vision for the future of mobile as the primary screen for entertainment, he created a series of cross-industry engagement platforms, bringing together thousands of global entertainment, creative agency and consumer brand marketers and artists at MWC to secure content partnerships and develop innovative projects with the world’s biggest mobile networks. Prior to the GSMA, Mark worked in the music, publishing and PR industries. He currently has his own marketing consultancy MSA Ltd, focused on the intersection of media, entertainment and technology and is a Strategic Marketing Consultant to the TM Forum & IBC, as well as a member of IBC’s Content Steering Group. Mark is also a Non-Executive Director on Ofcom’s Advisory Committee for England as well as a digital content marketplace platform start-up, Konnect Digital, and is a Non-Executive Board Member & Trustee of the Henley Festival, a leading UK music & arts festival that attracts an annual audience of 30,000.
