Christoph ThuemmlerCTO at 6G Health Institute
Professor Christoph Thuemmler is a Physician and ehealth-researcher based in Leipzig and Edinburgh. He studied Medicine, Political Science and Education at Heidelberg University where he graduated in Medicine and completed his PhD on a neurological topic. Christoph completed his medical training in General Internal Medicine, Care of the Elderly and Emergency medicine partly in Germany and partly in the UK. He worked in Heidelberg, Edinburgh, Birmingham, London and Leipzig.
Since the late 1990ies he has been research active in electronic communication and signal processing in the health domain. During his time at Edinburgh Napier University, he contributed to several large scale national and international research projects and published around 100 scientific papers, scientific reports and editorials. He served as an advisor to the EU-China Round Table on the Internet of Things and as the convener of the eHealth vertical for the European 5GPPP initiative. During his service as a clinical lead for Helios Park-Klinikum in Leipzig he designed and implemented a 5G stand-alone solution in an 800-bed hospital as part of “5G-eHealthSax”, a government co-funded project in Leipzig (Saxony). Christoph is the co-founder of the government funded 6G Health Institute in Leipzig. He also is an IEEE Senior Member and a member of the German Geriatric Society.
