We look forward to Bernardo Campillo's Keynote on September 28th, so before the event we spoke with him in more detail about his presentation topic and views of IoT:
Q1: What are you most looking forward to with regards to participating at Service Delivery Innovation Summit on 27-28 September in London?
"My current impression on the Service Delivery Innovation Summit event is that it will help us all to share our experiences and better understand how the IOT industry is facing current challenges. And this is very important because different actors through the IOT services value chain are facing problems that usually cannot be solved by a single provider. Partnerships and mutual collaboration are key in this stage of the IOT industry and ecosystem."
Q2: You will be making a presentation about the telco service delivery vision for IoT - could you tell us a little bit more about what you plan to cover in your presentation?
"My intention is to cover how telcos are facing the e2e service delivery for the new IOT services. As stated above, no single actor can provide the complete solution on its own but telcos are in a good position to connect the dots and offer a higher value to our customers. I would like to highlight how telcos are building a partners’ ecosystem to ensure high quality solutions, replicability and control costs while offering new and innovative solutions."
Q3: What would be your advice to an organisation that is just starting to get into IoT but wants to ensure to make the most out of it?
"My first advice would be not to start to build an IOT solution just because it sounds like you need it, it is trendy, etc. Connecting things and make them collaborate should be an inner need of your organization and product. If not, the ROI of the solution will hardly compensate. After that exercise, rely on partners that can give you the complete vision and the solution. Telcos are specialist on connectivity but we also have extensive experience in complex technological projects so for most of the industries telcos can be a great partner to squeeze the value in your IOT transformation or adoption."
