Profile
Philip is a senior executive who combines his leadership and entrepreneurial capabilities with engineering expertise in high-tech, satellite, renewable energy and complex infrastructure development. Currently, he is the CEO of Scepter, Inc., an integrated data analytics company bringing comprehensive atmospheric situational awareness to the commercial markets. Scepter's patented approach integrates existing, spotty ground-based sensor networks with its own space-based sensors to provide a unique 3D view of the atmosphere, a perspective not being provided by anyone today. Prior to Scepter, Philip founded Trio Renewable Gas, a waste-to-value company crafted in partnership with Fortune 500 entity SAIC, which specializes in deployment of modular thermo-chemical conversion systems across the Americas. Prior to these activities, Philip co-founded and led as President and CEO, a satellite communications company called ProtoStar Ltd. that provided direct-to-home bandwidth to small-dish television operators across Asia via two geostationary satellites which the company financed, built and launched.
In addition to his entrepreneurial and corporate activities, Philip was a consultant to Hughes Aircraft on the development of several domestic and international satellite ventures including DirecTV, Galaxy Latin America and platforms to provide internet backbone, air traffic navigation and broadband services. Regarding his engineering expertise, early on in his career Philip was employed as a satellite structures and composite materials engineer by Hughes Space and Communications and as a non-linear material behavior specialist by the Naval Research Laboratory. Philip is the co-author of multiple patents.
Philip earned his MBA from Stanford University and his BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic University.
