Dr. Manfred Zapka is the COO and Chief Science Officer of Great Places and Spaces, LLC, a Las Vegas based healthy workspace consultancy, and also owns Sustainable Design and Consulting LLC.  He is an international expert on healthy building practices, including ventilation, air, water, light, wastewater management temperature and sound.  His passion for green buildings and sustainable technology applications came from his deep love of nature and the goal to make the 90% of our lives we spend indoors as healthy as when we are outdoors.

Manfred is a co-founder of the international Safe Space Solutions working group, which has developed and launched a comprehensive risk assessment and mitigation framework to support COVID-19 safe workplaces in commercial and government buildings.  In addition to ensuring the latest scientific findings update the products, he works with the software development team to ensure meaningful analysis and reporting.

As a co-author of Productivity 20/20, Manfred believes that building Smart and Safe Cities starts with attracting and retaining the talent based on the physical safety and cultural practices that high talent is looking for.  He is also the co-creator of myPQ™, a confidential survey similar to Strengths Finder which helps professionals identify and discuss with managers the working conditions necessary for their peak “Performance Quotient”.
