Mariel Devesa is global head of business development at Phyn, the company bringing intelligent water solutions to market that help people protect their homes, conserve water and save money. At Phyn, Mariel is responsible for leading global revenue generation, business strategy and execution.

Mariel joined Phyn from Farmers Insurance where she served as head of innovation and oversaw the development of business relationships, product and offering implementations. She addressed changes in the new economy through developing new revenue streams, improving the customer experience and creating operational efficiencies. She has directly developed and led programs that generated in excess of $500 million in annual revenue. Under her tenure, Farmers was the first mainstream carrier to launch coverage for rideshare drivers, in addition to being the first insurer to incorporate phone distraction in the pricing of the telematics offering.

Before joining Farmers, Mariel spent over ten years at Deloitte & Touche, Red Bull (in the U.S. and Austria) and Herbalife. Her work focused on streamlining efficiencies and emphasizing the global transfer of best practices. She is a certified public accountant and a retired professional windsurfer with seven U.S. national titles.
