Lukas Neckermann Managing Director at Neckermann Strategic Advisors


Lukas Neckermann, has 20 years of leadership experience in automotive, media, and financial services.

After beginning his career at a small commercial radio station in Ithaca, New York, Lukas joined BMW Group in Munich. Working in BMW’s Central Marketing area, he co-developed the first website, helped launch the innovative Z8 sports car, and – as an internal consultant – recommended pricing, marketing communication, and positioning strategies for BMW’s various brands (at the time BMW, MINI, Rover, Land Rover, and MG).

He joined Allianz in 2002 as special assistant to the Group’s CEO, Michael Diekmann, where he supported the development of group strategy. He continued his Allianz career in various strategic and line leadership functions, last as Commercial Director and member of the Executive Board at Euler Hermes UK plc, the UK and Ireland’s leading credit-insurance company. While there, Lukas led the most significant innovation and strategic change program in 20 years of the company’s history.

Lukas is author of multiple books on smart mobility, and advisor to three startups: autonomous shared mobility innovator Next Future Transportation Inc, drone data analytics specialist Flock, and Splyt – developing technology for the ridehailing market.  He has previously co-founded Monoventure srl in Romania and MN Innovative Communication Inc in New York. Lukas is a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM), Adjunct Instructor at New York University, and has lectured and taught courses to executives from over 40 countries.  He has spoken at countless conferences on marketing, business development, communication, leadership, and innovation. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Technology Studies from Cornell University, and an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
