Carol Wilson is VP and Head of UK/Europe Communications, Media and Information Services (CMI) at TCS. In this role, Carol helps build and lead an organization focused on supporting transformation journeys as well as maximizing technology and service synergies across a varied client base.
A native of Palo Alto, California and she has made Munich, Germany her home for the past 33 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Carol has held Global CIO roles with the software industry leader SAP in Walldorf, as well as with the Swiss Testing and Inspection Leader, Societe Générale de Surveillance (SGS) in Geneva. After completing multiple organization, technology and process transformations, she gained exposure to IT outsourcing while at SAP. Here in 2005, she led the award of an SAP IT support deal to TCS. Through this deal, TCS became the first Indian company to be able to claim “TCS runs SAP”. Carol joined TCS in 2006 and over seven years contributed to Delivery Assurance and multiple initiatives to build offerings and services to establish the foundation of TCS’ “High-Technology” business unit focused on the software, semiconductor and professional services industries. Carol spent the next 4 years with the Deutsche Telekom’s outsourcing arm T-Systems, holding responsibility for the delivery of global Field and Workplace Services for the Deutsche Telekom and Clients of T-Systems across all industries and geographies.
In her early career, Carol held a range of international IT leadership roles across semiconductor marketing, manufacturing & distribution areas for both Texas Instruments and Motorola. She was a pioneer in early B2B and B2C efforts that integrated Tandem Non-Stop II technologies into warehouse & distribution processes and implemented one of the first fully automated, “lights out” data centers in Motorola. Carol was a key contributor to Motorola’s charge for the Malcom Baldridge Quality Award and led Motorola’s Software Engineering Institute (SEI) standards and methods efforts - forming the foundation for the CMM “fit for business” certification processes.
She rejoined TCS in January 2016 as VP and Head of the Communications, Media and Information Services business serving Clients across Europe and the UK.
Carol spends much of her time in the Bavarian countryside with her two horses. She writes, is an avid chef, a fan of motorsports and a self-proclaimed street poet.
