Reuben is a Royal Academy of Engineering award winning entrepreneur who has a PhD in Electronics and 15 years’ experience founding and growing technology startups. His smart home energy spinout, Joulo, won the 2013 British Gas Connected Homes award and was acquired by Quby in 2014. He also co-founded Bar Analytics, an IoT startup that enables global brands to monitor beer quality and sales. Reuben was a leading figure in entrepreneurship at the University of Southampton and in 2015 founded their startup accelerator, Future Worlds, where he mentored over 200 entrepreneurs and 50 companies over a four-year period. He has extensive product design experience with deep technical knowledge of hardware, software, IoT and manufacturing, is an inventor on 5 patents and named author on over 45 peer reviewed publications ranging from integrated circuit design to genetic algorithms. Reuben joined Blackfinch Investments in 2019 and is now Ventures Director, heading up the Blackfinch Ventures EIS Portfolios, which invests in early stage tech startups.
