Md Rezwan Al Islam, is a Bangladeshi national, born and brought up in Qatar and has studied and worked across the globe. A self-acclaimed nerd and geek, Rezwan was given his first computer at the age of five – which set things in motion for his current passion for business, media, and technology. He wrote his first line of code when he was eight years old and developed his first website when he was 12.
Throughout his high school and university years, he has always been involved in academic as well as professional opportunities building his portfolio in technology-based systems. Rezwan has a great passion for business, communications, and technology (BCT) and has built expertise in combining all three into a niche BCT offering with a business-first focus.
An academic at heart, he is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Communication holding a degree in Communication and a Masters from Harvard University. He has numerous other professional certifications and executive execution credentials.
Rezwan is currently the Vice President of Enterprise Business Solutions in Robi Axiata Ltd, a multinational telecom company and mobile network operator in Bangladesh. Robi is a part of Axiata Group Berhad, commonly known as Axiata, a Malaysian multinational telecommunications conglomerate with extensive operations in Asia. Rezwan is responsible for the B2B ICT portfolio and responsible for driving the technology and digital business transformation along with various other strategic initiatives and special projects for the company. Starting off his career journey in consulting, Rezwan has forayed into investment and holding groups, government and non-profit, medicine and healthcare, broadcasting and media, banking and financial services, travel and leisure - aviation, hotels, hospitality, and other industry verticals in a career spanning over 15 years.
Rezwan has been published in many scholarly journals and books and has extensively written about media, technology, and user consumption habits and behaviors. He is also an aspiring media-technopreneur and has investments in a few digital startups and serves as a board member on several mobile and digital projects. In addition, Rezwan provides pro-bono consulting and advisory to social, educational, and youth empowerment projects. In his free time, Rezwan partakes in filmmaking and has won several awards in film festivals for his short films and documentaries. He is an avid traveler, a chef in the making, and a sports and media and art enthusiast.
