Franz is Vice President “Core Network & PaaS and Infrastructure Cloud” at Deutsche Telekom Group’s “Technology Architecture and Innovation” unit.

In his role he is in charge to drive the development of innovative, flexible and efficient network architectures for DT in the areas of core network and service enabling, covering both fixed and mobile networks.
In addition Franz is leading the “cloud and services” domain within the Technology Architecture division of DT’s German operation, Telekom Deutschland.
Prior to this role, Franz held various management positions in the areas of mobile core network and mobile network architecture at DT Headquarters. Besides other tasks, he was deeply involved in the definition, standardisation and introduction of 4G.
