Phasor has developed a low profile Ku band antenna intended for operation from trains, ships and aeroplanes while in motion. The antenna is less than 3 cms. in height and is conformable around curved surfaces such as aircraft fuselage. The technology uses fully electronic beam steering and the antenna has no moving parts resulting in unprecedented reliability. The resulting zero inertia pointing allows for rapid beam steering to enable operation from fast moving platforms such as vehicles travelling over rough terrain as well as ships and ‘planes. The array is equally suitable for operation with non-GSO satellites.
The phased array antenna is built using any number of modules which allows for very high gain solutions and so is capable of supporting carriers of 100 MS/s or more.
A Ka band version is under development.
