Simon Lacey is Head Digital Trade and Geopolitics at the World Economic Forum. Before joining the Forum, Simon worked for over twenty years advising sovereigns and corporates in over 30 countries on trade and investment policy. It was in this capacity that Simon spent 5 years at Huawei Technologies in Shenzhen, as Vice President, Global Government Affairs, as well as spending 4 years in Jakarta, advising the Government of Indonesia on the negotiation and implementation of various multilateral and regional trade agreements. Simon obtained a bachelor’s degree in Swiss and European law at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland and a master’s in international economic law at Georgetown University in Washington D.C.
