CEO at Chorus

JB has led Chorus since 2019 and during this time Chorus has gone from strength to strength, despite all the challenges caused by COVID-19. Under JB’s watch, Chorus is on track to reach 1 million fibre connections in 2022 and becoming the de-facto technology for broadband connectivity in New Zealand. Most recently Chorus introduced the Big Fibre Boost, tripling download speeds on Chorus’ entry residential wholesale fibre plan to 300mbps, effectively setting the connection standard for broadband in Aotearoa, and led the way for the next generation of fibre connectivity for consumers with the launch of Hyperfibre.

Prior to Chorus, JB was Chief Strategy Officer at NBN. Before that he held senior roles at Telstra including the Executive Director of Voice, BigPond and Media. He was also the CEO of IP telephony start-up Interline, an Executive Director of the Australasian Media and Communications Fund and has worked in consulting and investment banking.

JB holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management (USA) and a Masters Degree in Engineering from Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (France).
