Currently working as the Sales Director for West and Central Africa at Wari, Ababacar DEME has more than 10 years of experience in the Digital Financial Services sector.

He Graduated in Marketing and Business intelligence and completed a Masters in Business Engineering from IAM (Institute Africain de Management), one of West Africa’s most prestigious business Schools.

Ababacar began his career as a Sales Executive for the Coca Cola Company West Africa and the FMCG world 16 years ago

Subsequently, he joined the remittance industry as the Upstream Operations Manager for Money Express in 2009, and then officially joined Wari as a Retail Network Manager in April 2012.

Ababacar filled multiple positions throughout his time at Wari. He was the Country Manager for Senegal from 2014 to 2016, proceeded as Senior Business Development Manager, and was appointed Head of Operations and Business Intelligence end 2017.

Ababacar specializes in remittances, financial inclusion ecosystem settings, Business development and mobile money. Furthermore, he has excellent knowledge in E-banking, Electronic Money Issuance, and distribution channels. He speaks four languages (French, English, Spanish and Arabic)
