Bakary Traore
Economist – Africa, Europe & Middle-East à Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Centre

Profile

Bakary Traoré is an Economist at the OECD Development Centre. He is currently the lead Economist in charge of the new flagship report Africa's Development Dynamics jointly published by the African Union Commission and the OECD Development Centre. He is also in charge of a new joint project with ACET (African Center for Economic Transformation) and AUDA-NEPAD on “Quality infrastructure for Africa”.

Since 2010, Mr. Traoré has been mainly working on Africa, engaging directly with high-level policymakers at national, regional and continental levels. He participated in 7 editions of the African economic Outlook annual reports (2010-2017) and several OECD Multidimensional country reviews. He also contributed to the expansion of the Revenue Statistics in Africa report (ATAF/OECD/AUC).

Prior to joining the OECD, Mr. Traoré has been a teaching Assistant at the University of Paris-Versailles (2009-2011), and Junior research Assistant at the GEMDEV. Mr. Traoré holds a Master Degree in Applied Micro-Econometrics and behavioural economics from the University Paris1, a Master Degree in Development economics from University Paris 10, and a Master degree in Quantitative economics from the University of Bamako (Mali). Mr. Traoré hold 5 major academic distinctions.
