Gaspard Datondji
Advisor to Managing Director at Benin Telecom


Gaspard Datondji is a senior executive and experienced professional in the telecommunications industry with about 18 years of combined progressive experience in strategic planning, health information management, IT audit and telecommunications services management to support private sector and public service delivery.

Multi-award winning project manager, he consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty, and shows strong leadership and management skill, which allows him to present a very complex issue in a simple and understandable way.

In a recent past, he has been an advisor to the Managing Director of Benin Telecoms Services, a leading operator in 4G LTE, and he tasked with quality monitoring and processes. In this regard and in his capacity as the head of the monitoring committee of the 4G LTE network, he took an active part in issues connected with costs and 4G LTE service delivery requirements with the availability of terminals compatible with 4G LTE and their access to market.

Prior to that, he served as Sales and Marketing Director, ICT advisor, Senior Internal Auditor, Corporate sales manager and as a software developer in the telecoms industry. Furthermore, he has a good experience in the area of consulting with public institutions and international organizations such as UNDP and UNOPS.

He has been selected as WHO Top 30 Africa Innovator, from a pool of 2471 applications in the framework of the second Africa Health Forum that took place from 26 to 28 march 2019 in Praia, Cape Verde. In 2016, he was selected by West Africa Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) and attended during two months in Dinard (France), a high-level leadership and management training session for young African leaders and managers as part of the program “Talents du monde” (World’s talents). One year before, in 2015, he was a recipient of the Tony Elumelu Foundation as part of the African competition of innovating projects and was the same year awarded the second prize for the national Business Plan competition launched by the World Bank and the government of Benin.

Some of his work and articles have been featured on international reviews published by the International Organization of the Francophonie (International Colloquium on sustainable development, Ouagadougou, 2004) and by the Higher Institute of Documentation (International Colloquium on digital information, Tunis, 2005).

Gaspard holds a Master II in Project Management, a professional certificate in IT Audit, a master’s degree in Economics and in software engineering.
