Samba Laobe Thiam is Head of Transport Division at Orange Mali, where he has responsibility for the management of four teams:
- Optical fiber deployement team for the FTTx, backhaul and backbone
- Backhauling engineering team in charge of deployment and optimisation of backhaul solutions for the mobile and fixed network (GSG, Microwave, MSAN, ...)
- Backbone engineering team in charge of deployment and optimisation of backbone solutions and international connectivity (WDM, SDH, Long Haul MW,Satellite, Synchronization, submarine cable ...)
- IP network engineering team in charge deployment of IP routers and some cache plateforms (google, CDN, DNS, LTE Secgateway, webcache...)
Samba has 13 years of experience in telecoms network industry specially on innovation, strategy, planning, transmission, IP, mobile network (3G, 4G, 5G), digitalization.
Samba Laobe Thiam Graduate from INPT (Institut National des Postes et Télécommunications) at Rabat, M.Sc degree in Telecoms, Networks & Computer Sciences and is a member of ACE submarine cable management and technical comitee . He also represent Orange Mali at te OLN (Orange Labs and Network) Seminar
