Thelma QuayeHead of Digital Infrastructure and Capacity Building at Smart Africa
Thelma Quaye is the ardent believer in the future of Africa.
She heads the digital Infrastructure division of the Smart Africa Secretariat – a pan African organization based in Kigali – Rwanda. Among what she does is harmonization of policies and creating strategies in the areas of digital infrastructure, data protection and regulation, cyber security and capacity building for member countries across Africa.
Prior to the above, Thelma was the Chief Technical Officer for Airtel Ghana, a first across the Airtel Africa Operations. She also worked with the ITU, UN women and African Union in the African Girls Can Code Initiative, aimed at bringing Arts, fashion and ICT education to girls through coding.
She co-founded the Codefactory Africa, a startup in Ghana and Rwanda with the focus to create employment in Africa by building world class skills in software development for the youth.
She is an advocate for Girls in STEM related activities and loves to spend time with family.
