Topic Overview

Blessed with the continent’s largest economy, population and, following an incredible year of $377 million of investment in 2019, Africa’s most valuable tech ecosystem, Nigeria is uniquely placed to enrich and improve the lives of its citizens through the transformative power of technology.

This special virtual roundtable will pull together top experts, key leaders and government representatives from across tech and innovation to examine an issue at the heart of Nigeria’s digital transformation journey.

We’ll explore:

  • The process of creating and implementing fit-for-purpose tech policy and building productive, lasting partnerships between government and Nigerian tech ecosystems
  • Policy issues important to Nigeria: privacy & security, taxation, competition, PPPs
  • The challenges of designing policy for Nigeria’s start-up scene: government grants, tax breaks and other incentives, international and Pan-African trade agreements
  • Nigerian policy challenge examples, including The Federal Governments ‘Right-of-Way’
  • Learnings from African countries who have created strong tech-government relationships
  • How government policy and regulation are combining to create fair and secure tech ecosystems. Exploring the breadth and impact of tech security and anti-corruption initiatives

This intimate invite-only roundtable discussion will convene to discuss challenges and opportunities on the topic of ‘The Critical Role of Policy in Driving Nigeria’s Digital Revolution’ with leaders and innovators from across Nigerian technology.
