Omdia’s Global Fiber Development Index tracks and benchmarks fiber development across 81 countries. Fiber investment is vital to the quality delivery of all data services; therefore, unlike other fiber benchmarks that largely track coverage or household penetration, Omdia’s benchmark takes into account a wider set of metrics including business penetration, mobile cell site fiber penetration, fiber backbone investment, overall average download and upload speed, and the standard fiber household coverage and household penetration.
