Taking the alfresco experience to new heights, the Burj Club Rooftop was the venue for the 5G MENA Awards Ceremony 2017 on May 1st.
5G MENA region’s leaders in 5G, LTE, IoT and Cloud gathered together for a glamorous evening of dinner, relaxed discussions, and networking.
This award recognises an individual or collaborative effort in developing a vision and technology for 5G and future network deployment. The award was open to companies capable of demonstrating that they have made a significant contribution to 5G network development and research, and how this will impact future infrastructure and deployment.
This award recognises the most significant development of a commercial LTE network. Entrants were required to describe their achievements, state how they are significant compared to other operators’, and provide examples of how the network was developed, how it was commercially successful and how it has improved the end user experience.
The Best NFV/SDN Solution award was open to companies capable of demonstrating that they have made a significant impact in facilitating the development of the NFV/SDN market over the last year. Companies should have devised an innovative NFV Proof of Concept or introduced a new service which will help revolutionise the market, remove barriers and help make technology virtualisation a reality.
This award recognises network and/or device testing products that are exceptional in their area. Entrants are required to describe their testing product, state why the product is different to others in the market, examples of its use and what the impact has been to measure true LTE performance in real life conditions in the market.
This award recognises innovative Internet of Things (IoT) devices, products, applications, services, or solutions that address a specific challenge, or enable a specific outcome that was not previous achievable. Companies should have devised an innovative solution which will help revolutionise the market, and make a significant impact for future IoT network/ architecture/ technology development. Entries could have been for a specific vertical market, or an IoT enabling technology across the market.
This award recognises the hard work and passion of the most prominent mobile technology leaders in the region, and acknowledges the important central role of the CTO in modern mobile network operators. The Judges were looking for an exemplary individual who is a true guru in the industry, able to influence the current developments for LTE in the region but also influence the future of 5G network developments and technologies.
Each category was independently judged by our neutral panel of industry analysts and specialists. Our thanks go to these distinguished individuals for donating their time to this important event.
