About 20 years spent in telecommunications, starting from mobile systems, managing technical teams in data networks, mobile access networks, fixed ultra broadband networks, mobile and fixed terminals. Mobile networks, FTTX, IMS,Optical Transport and IP networking for mobile and fixed networks are keywords of my expertise. I have 10 years hands on experience in standardization (ETSI, 3GPP), following the design of 3G from the beginning, until the definition of 4G. My expertise includes technology innovation plans within Telecom Italia and other operators within TIM group (Amena Spain, TIM Hellas Greece, Entel PCS in Argentina, Hansenet Germany and BBNet in the Netherlands), mobile consultancy projects in Asia outside TIM group (SK telecom in South Korea, Smartone in Hong Kong), financed research projects (Eu and Italian Government). I have been managing engineering and development teams for wireless access, wired access, IP and transport within TIM.I am currently focusing on 5G pre-commercial activities and acceleration plans with trials, spectrum licensing, technology credibility test and partnership with municipalities in Italy for 5G early adoption projects.Specialties: R&D, Mobile Network Innovation, 3GPP standard, mobile and fixed broadband terminals, ultra broadband fixed access, large scale data and transport networks.
