With almost 20 years of experience in Accenture, Francesco has long been a driver for change in the fast-moving global broadcast landscape, as well as his more recent experience in encouraging the Communications industry to “Trash the Rulebook” in the face of a shift of value caused by digital disruption. In his role as Accenture’s Global Lead for the Communications & Media industries, he is at the leading edge of helping Accenture’s clients to embrace and accelerate the need for convergence and transformation, and to help companies create new and winning strategies for growth.
An industry stalwart with strong financial acumen developed from years working in Private equity, he has not only been instrumental in shaping cutting-edge transformative deals but has played an active and strategic advisory role in transforming some of the most significant companies in the industry, ensuring that the value promised from end-to-end corporate and cultural transformation is delivered via a future-ready operating model.
Francesco is renowned for driving new platform-based solutions and Accenture investments to support Communications and Media clients in their adoption of innovative new technologies to scale new growth curves. As the lead for some of Accenture’s most significant and senior client relationships, Francesco’s experience includes leading complex business transformation programs, launching new, and restructuring existing businesses. In addition, Francesco has served as guide and trusted partner to Communication Service Providers seeking strategies to accelerate their move to the cloud in order to build efficiency through cost variabilization, greater resilience, and efficient operations as well as to reinvent operating and technology models around the concept of Telco-Tech and product and service development innovation.
Francesco continues to drive strategic initiatives enabling Communications Service Providers to
own the home and drive up Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), through offering integrated B2C services for connectivity, security, video and IoT devices. He has also been instrumental in setting the stage for CSPs to own the SMB and Large Enterprise segments, delivering B2B strategies designed to capture the even greater revenue opportunity for CSPs. Moving the SMB beyond connectivity and towards digital and IT services, and growth driven by 5G and edge computing, puts the CSP into a central position in the SMB and Large Enterprise value chains.
Francesco has played a pivotal role in the development of Industry IP through vertical solutions that leverage cloud and modern software engineering to bring value to clients in key areas of their business including product and service innovation, front end omnichannel capabilities, network and infrastructure, and business and operations support systems.
On the Media front Francesco led the development of the award-winning Accenture Video Solution (AVS), an OTT and IPTV microservice platform designed to deliver digital video over broadband, with
a cloud-enabled, data-driven, seamless, and personalized user experience across all mass market devices.
Francesco is a regular speaker at global industry conferences and an author of many papers on topical issues in Communications and Broadcasting. His “Future of Broadcasting” series provided insights into the links between strategy, performance and shareholder value while the “Bringing TV to Life” series focuses on the fast developing, data-driven world of OTT-TV and analyses the dynamics driving OTT-TV’s rapid evolution.
An alumnus of the prestigious Università Bocconi in Milan, Italy, Francesco holds a degree in Business Administration with a specialization in corporate finance. He is an avid competitive road cyclist. One of his favourite brands is Lotus Cars.
