Profile
Dr. Ke Xu is a Principal Member of Technical Staff in Network Analytics and Automation group at AT&T Labs. He is the lead architect of defining user-level 4G/5G RAN data for AT&T, which is being used by dozens of projects and tools across AT&T. Dr. Xu is also responsible for architecting multiple user-level network performance solutions. Recently, he is also leading the innovative effort on democratizing RAN data for future networks by designing simple APIs based on big data infrastructure, e.g. HDFS and Spark.
Prior to AT&T, Dr. Xu worked at Dell Technologies, specifically Dell Research and Cloud Solutions Engineering group. He strategically architected and developed the 1st commercial product- OpenGENI Rack (SDN-Enabled) at Dell Research in 2014, and developed the VMware based cloud solutions in 2016. Dr. Xu was actively involved in SDN/NFV areas as early as 2009, turning research outcomes into reality. He collaborated with multiple universities on cutting-edge research projects on SDN, 5G and edge computing. Dr. Xu was a Principal Investigator from industry on Software-Defined Edge Cloud for Smart City Initiative by NSF, collaborated with San Jose State University and City of San Jose in 2016.
As a young technology pioneer, Dr. Xu brings innovative thoughts into cloud and Telco industry, for creating new business values. He received his Ph.D. in EE from Clemson University. He published 15 papers and holds 9 US patents.
