Marais and Plumettaz

Since 2015, Marais is a branch of the Tesmec Group, an italian company based out of Grassobbio, a few kilometers away from Bergamo in the North of the country.

Tesmec designs, manufactures and sells products, technologies and integrated solutions for the construction, maintenance and efficiency of infrastructures related to the transport and distribution of energy, data and material (oil and derivatives, gas, water) such as: overhead and underground networks, traditional and high speed railway lines, energy cables and pipelines.

With more than 65 years of experience and more than 750 employees, Tesmec Group carries sales activities in more than 135 countries around the world.

Marais was founded in 1962 by Jacques Marais. Our headquarters and production facility are located in Durtal, France.

Thanks to our founder, we are proud to say that we invented the trenching wheel and the mechanical laying concept. Until today, trenching and microtrenching machines remain our best sellers.

Marais, one business unit, 3 activities :

  • Manufacturing and sale of trenching and microtrenching machines,
  • Specialized trenching equipment rental,
  • Underground networks construction.

Since 1923, the Plumettaz group has taken the world by storm with its capacity for innovation in the fields of agriculture, construction, rail, energy and telecommunications.

Plumettaz’s mission has always been to lighten the load of the workforce by using its mechanical innovations: capstan winches for snow groomers and facade maintenance, viticulture equipment, or oil circulators for the railway industry. Since 1953, the design and supply of equipment for the installation of all-terrain cables for energy and telecommunications have become its core activity.
