Azli is currently the Chief Transformation Officer for AirAsia Group, where he is tasked in designing and executing the transformative strategies in achieving AirAsia 3.0 vision towards becoming a travel technology company
Preceding to that, he was the Chief Strategy Officer of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad where he was in charge of the strategic and innovative execution for the business-side of the aviationr elated units and overall group-level activities with focus in driving efficiency & maximizing company’s bottom line, organic & inorganic growth, innovation and digital transformation via Airports 4.0 framework.
Azli also served GE for 7 years, with his last position was Chief Operating Officer for the Malaysia’s operations. Prior to GE, Azli was with Mubadala Investment Company based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Azli was recently appointed as the Board Member of Malaysia Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC).
He was previously the Board of Governor at American-Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), Vice-Chair of US-ASEAN Business Council, Chairman of SIRIM’s Energy & Environment Flagship Research Committee and a Member of the IoT Advisory Board at Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).
Having started his career in banking, Azli then focused in structured finance in a corporate-setting with strong emphasis on strategy & transformation, merger & acquisitions, business development and innovation in a cross-border and multi-industry environment. Azli is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, FastWorks Practitioner & an Agile Certified Scrum Master.
He has been trained at Crotonville - GE's premier Leadership Development Center, attended Executive Financial Leadership Program by INSEAD and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Finance) from Universiti Utara Malaysia.
