Charles Paumelle leads both Microshare’s product and business development from his UK-base and drives the company’s unique “Sensing-as-a-Service” model globally. Through his relationships with clients, suppliers and Internet of Things laboratories globally, Charles drives innovation and the introduction of new products within theh company, often working hand-in-hand with large clients to develop capabilities that previously were absent from the market.

An example of this process is Microshare’s Universal Contact Tracing solution, a wearable developed by a team led by Charles and in tandem with a major client, Glaxo-SmithKline, at the very start of the global pandemic. An evolution of an existing product (Asset Tracing), Charles and his team went from idea to deployment as one of GSK’s Southeast Asian manufacturing plants within the period of a month, then battle-tested to wearables until GSK declared the outcome “fantastic.” The Microshare wearables are now deployed globally in 22 countries, including 20 GSK facilities.

From Indoor Air Quality Monitoring to Occupancy and Activity sensors, Microshare has secured a place at the crest of the wave of IoT/Smart Building innovation, and Charles provides crucial direction and creativity in this process. He is currently working on enhancements to Microshare’s EverSmart suite of Smart Facilities solutions to address global demand for Return-to-Work capabilities, as well as a growing need for solutions that provide compliance and sustainability data.

A native of France who is also fluent in German and English, Charles has been an evangelist for the Internet of Things (IoT) for over a decade. His hard work and reputation has won him many honors, including appointment as Chairman of the Marketing Committee of the LoRa Alliance, the Low-Power Wide Area Networks (LPWAN) organization and fastest growing IoT network in the world. He has lectured in major forums around the world on behalf of both Microshare and the Alliance.

Prior to helping launch Microshare, Charles led the Accenture practice for business process management (BPM) across Europe, Africa, and Latin America. He was also Managing Director International for Knowledge Rules, a global BPM consultancy. Charles held a number of eBusiness/eCommerce leadership positions for Dell Computers, and Shell Gas LPG. Charles started his career whilst still at university working for Pegasystems (NASDAQ: PEGA) where he helped grow their business in new sectors and geographies.

Charles holds a Master in Business from Audencia Nantes (France) and Trinity College Dublin (Ireland).
