Tim Jennings is Ovum’s Chief Research Officer. In this role, he is responsible for leading Ovum’s Enterprise IT research agenda, developing the product portfolio, and liaising with key clients. Tim is a regular speaker at both Ovum and external industry events, and his views on IT issues are frequently quoted in both trade and national press.
Tim’s research interests include enterprise IT management, IT governance, enterprise architecture, and information management. He has authored or co-authored major reports on managing IT investments, achieving IT flexibility, and IT governance. In addition to his technology interests, Tim writes and presents regularly on IT strategy and information economics. For a number of years, Tim has led Ovum’s highly respected IT Master Classes, in both the UK and internationally, and has hosted similar events in Australia, South Africa, and Russia. Tim also participates in several IT industry research bodies, including the Innovation Value Institute.
Tim is one of Europe’s most experienced IT analysts with expertise gained in a broad spectrum of technology areas working with both vendors and enterprises. His 20-year career in the IT industry has included roles in software development in the public sector, consultancy work in the manufacturing and retail sectors, as a CIO in the automotive parts sector, and representing overseas software vendors in the UK market.
Tim graduated from Aston University in 1983 with a BSc in Computer Science.
