Michael Richmond is the principal architect of cloud, systems, and platforms at NIO, the automotive company behind the NIO EP9 (the fastest electric car in the world), and the ES8 consumer SUV. At NIO, Michael is building a data analytics platform that is container-native and designed to manage data at 100+ petabyte scale. Michael will share how NIO is using containers to produce their autonomous vehicles.

Michael has over 20 years of experience developing enterprise software systems. While at IBM Research, Michael was the chief architect for the Linear Tape File System (LTFS), which won an Engineering Emmy® Award for Innovation from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Michael holds a Doctorate from Macquarie University.
