As a self-described "technical nerd that wants to make gaming infrastructure amazing," Rob worked in the team that built the Roblox platform that 70 million gamers rely on globally. Rob made the choice to leverage containers and HashiCorp Nomad to run workloads at massive scale. As Roblox's Technical Director of Cloud Services, Rob says he "loves solving hard problems that make infrastructure work for players." Rob has been solving hard technical challenges for nearly 20 years in the industry working with over 1000 different organizations as a consultant around infrastructure. After spending most of his career working for Juniper Networks in the security and automation space he transitioned to focus on the massive scale issues facing the gaming industry. Over his career, Rob has worked on six books and several patents focusing on firewalls and network security. He loves working in Golang, Docker, and automating the mundane.
