Austin Convention Center
Health & Safety at IoT World
We're so excited about the prospect of returning to an in-person event this year, joining forces with AI Summit Silicon Valley to welcome you back with an incredible two-day agenda.
In order to keep our delegates, speakers, sponsors, and staff safe at the event, the following measures will be in place:
- All attendees will need to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 OR proof of a negative COVID-19 test. See details about how to do this here.
- All attendees will be required to wear face coverings throughout the event when not eating or drinking) unless exempt.
- Should it be necessary, we will work with local authorities to trace and contact participants at the event, subject to local privacy regulations.
We are confident that with these safety measures in place we can run a successful and enjoyable event for all – just ask our attendees from the AI Summit London in September or Black Hat USA in August!
FAQs
WHAT OTHER HEALTH & SAFETY MEASURES WILL BE IN OPERATION?
Additional enhanced measures will be implemented across the event in accordance with California state and local regulations, and following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
- Deep and thorough cleaning will take place before, during and after each day of the event.
- Hand sanitizer will be readily available throughout the event.
- Where possible, contactless systems and processes will be in place to minimize "touchpoints."
- Program materials will be distributed electronically where possible.
- Health and Safety Ambassadors will be on-site to promote good hygiene and answer questions.
- Crowd densities and capacities will be managed accordingly.
- Masks will be available to all attendees at no charge, but we encourage you to bring your own.
DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER ADVICE FOR EVENT ATTENDEES?
- Individuals who are immunocompromised or at high risk are encouraged to attend virtually.
- All event participants are expected to observe and engage in recognized preventive actions to help ensure a safe environment, including frequent hand washing.
- Individuals should not attend the event if they have tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 14 days or if they are concerned that they have been exposed to the virus within the last 14 days and could possibly test positive.
- Should an event participant test positive for COVID-19, register a temperature, or become ill during the event, he/she/they should observe recognized quarantining procedures.
HOW MANY ATTENDEES DO YOU EXPECT THIS YEAR?
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 regulations, and with the safety of our attendees in mind, we are running at a reduced capacity in-person this year.
We are confident though that whilst numbers may be reduced compared to pre-pandemic days, there will be a fantastic mix of delegates and a great buzz around the show as our community gets back together to reconnect, exchange stories, and share insights.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IOT WORLD IS FORCED TO CANCEL THE IN-PERSON EVENT?
We are optimistic that we’ll be able to host a great in-person experience at the Santa Clara Convention Center. However, we all know from the past 18 months that sometimes things are beyond the scope of our control, so we are offering purchase protection on tickets.
If for any reason, we are forced to cancel the in-person Silicon Valley event, all paid passes will automatically convert to Virtual All Access Passes and the balance will be converted to credit towards a 2022 pass. Full or partial refunds may also be requested as an alternative (subject to a 6% processing fee).
