Chris Baker has thirty-one years of first responder experience in fire, EMS, and law enforcement, and is a member of the IWCE advisory committee. Chris retired as a Battalion Chief and Investigator from the Roseville California Fire Department with assignments in investigations, operations, administration, technology, homeland security, and safety. These assignments included public safety technologies such as interoperability, CAD, RMS, station alerting, common operating picture, incident communications, and communications unit instructor. Chris also served for twelve years as a per diem reserve deputy sheriff. Prior to a full-time career in the fire service, Chris worked as an electrical engineer building cellular networks, training engineers, and developing wireless test tools. Chris is a registered California Professional Engineer, Paramedic, member of the CA State Bar, commercial pilot, and volunteers with the U.S Air Force Auxiliary - Civil Air Patrol.
