Kike OniwindeFounder and CEO at BYP NetworkSpeaker
Profile
Kike Oniwinde is the founder and CEO of BYP Network, a platform that connects black professionals with each other and corporations. She has an economics degree from the University of Nottingham and a Msc in Management from the University of Florida, where she gained a full Track & Field Scholarship. She is also an ex-Great Britain javelin thrower and a three time British University Championships medalist. The idea of BYP Network came after Kike studied abroad and met talented black students, who faced similar challenges to those in the UK. Once back in London, the lack of diversity in the workplace coupled with low opportunities to meet others in the city; prompted her to take action to 'change the black narrative.'
As part of the BYP Network offering they have a job board, host diversity conferences and have an app currently downloaded in 65 countries. With a network reach of tens of thousands, they’ve also worked with top companies such as Spotify, Accenture and Deloitte and have featured in both The Times and Evening Standard. With a total of £200,000 invested in to the BYP Network and backing by Sky Corporation, London Stock Exchange and Mayor’s International Business Programme - they’re only set to grow.
Last year, Kike was named as a Sky Woman in Technology Scholar, F-Factor Winner and New Entrepreneurs Foundation Winner. She was invited to Paris on a business trade mission with London Mayor, Sadiq Khan; won a STEM Trailblazer Batons Award at Houses of Parliament and was invited to meet ex-CEO of Google, Eric Schmidt.
Kike is one of the Forbes 30 under 30, Maserati 100 innovators, Top 100 UK BAME Leaders in Tech and a World Economic Forum Global Shaper.
