Luca RancilioCo-Founder at Rancilio CubeSpeaker
Profile
Luca ran for more than 20 years the family business “Rancilio Group”, espresso machines world leader company. In 2007, the firm entered into a shareholding agreement with the private equity fund “Alto Partners Sgr” (Fund II), while in 2008 Rancilio acquired the majority of a Swiss company (Egro) that specializes in the complementary sub-fund to their original “super-automatic” coffee machines, later relocating the production from Switzerland to Italy in 2010. After the sale of the “Rancilio Group” (2013), Luca founded the family office “Rancilio Cube” together with his sister, Silvia, and his mother Adele. Rancilio Cube manages the family assets in a professional manner, with the same entrepreneurial eye on the business developed in the previous company, making targeted investments in private equity and other assets classes, exploring the Venture Capital field in Italy and all around the world, and earning trusted and recognition in the sector. Started by investing their own family resources, in early 2020 Rancilio Cube completed the evolution of the family office: first, by spinning-off, the majority of its investments in VC into a new vehicle "Cube3", then resolved a share capital increase at Cube3 level to onboard a few families as minority shareholders and journey pals.
Luca is part of the BOD of many companies like “Legami” and “Treedom” and he is a European advisor of the US Fund “GSquared” and the German “Earlybird”. Luca is considered the landmark of the team for his broad knowledge of the business and his sensibility.
